Evolve IP HITRUST Certified

January 05, 2018

Evolve IP (News - Alert) has announced it has achieved Common Security Framework (CSF) Certified status from the Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance. This will guarantee the company’s cloud computing and cloud communications services abide by the proper security standards for electronic protected health information (PHI), private financial information, etc. With Evolve as a HITRUST provider, it can now help other companies become certified to deliver the same high, secure standards.

To obtain HITRUST certification, a company must adhere to a group of risk-based security and operational controls followed by third-party auditing and validation. This meets all of the essentials of HIPPA/ HITECH for healthcare safety, privacy, regulatory concerns. Compliance also meets 20 additional regulatory bodies or standards such as PCI (News - Alert)/DSS, ISO 27001, Sarbanes Oxley, and NIST.

“This is important for every single business evaluating cloud solutions whether it’s a healthcare customer or a firm in manufacturing, retail or any type of organization,” noted international cyber security expert and author Thomas Norman of Ingram Micro (News - Alert). “It is relevant because the HITRUST process is the pinnacle today of IT security. Customers can rest assured that the data that they entrust to Evolve IP is being protected to the highest possible standards.”

Evolve IP went through a lengthy process, having its cloud communications services thoroughly examined and evaluated. This certification makes the Evolve IP OneCloud the first services provider to be able to offer healthcare teams and their organizations a unified, HITRUST CSF environment for both cloud communications and cloud computing services.

“This is another significant milestone in the continuing development of the Evolve IP Compliance Cloud and I am incredibly proud of the team for their hard work around this accomplishment,” said Joseph Pedano, Executive Vice President of Cloud Engineering of Evolve IP. “We view compliance as a practice, not a part-time pursuit, and while we have historically entered into business associate agreements and enabled HIPAA compliance to support clients’ contractual requirements, we felt that it was important to do more. With HITRUST certification, we are making a clear statement to all of our clients and prospects – both inside and outside of healthcare – that data security and compliance is our number one concern.”
