Pascom Augments VoIP With New IP-PBX Release

May 01, 2017

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a tough market. There are a lot of competitors out there, each eager to get a slice of this market for their own. Recently, Pascom augmented its mobydick Internet protocol private branch exchange (IP-PBX (News - Alert)) system with a slate of new features, a move which will likely improve its fortunes in the market.

One of the biggest new additions is a UC desktop client update. A new Dial Pad window, workflows specifically geared toward the end user, new levels of call detail and a simplified menu structure combine to make this easier to work with, and thus give it a better chance of success among VoIP competitors.

It's also added several other features with an eye toward better usability, and it's commonly known that a system that's easier to use, all else being equal, is preferred to one that's harder. Harder to use systems require more training and a longer learning curve, all of which mean increased expenses.

That's not all, of course; the newly detailed caller information screens can be accessed with just one mouse click, a move that can result in better customer experiences for incoming callers and a potential bottom-line impact. Throw in a new follow-me system that's user accessible, as well as a new interoperability with Grandstream's IP phone line—and the impressive lineup of services that comes along with this line of devices—and the end result is a powerful new system in the VoIP market.

Such a lineup should go a long way toward giving Pascom some significant leverage in the VoIP field. While there's no doubt that there are a lot of competitors here eager to get in on the action, Pascom's newly-updated systems are delivering a staggering array of tools and options for users all in one package. There's value here in internal operations, in greater customer service—just that enhanced caller information screen is enough to potentially represent greater profitability and a better chance at maintaining a customer base—and beyond. Add these all together and it's a value proposition that's going to be hard for anyone to pass up.

Pascom has put together an impressive package of upgrades for its newest version of mobydick, and that combination should give it a great opportunity for advancement in the market. Only time will tell just how well it works, but it's a safe bet the news will be good for the company in the end.
